Continuous Glucose Monitor for Gestational Diabetes Diagnosis Study

Researchers at UCSF are interested in investigating a new method of gestational diabetes diagnosis. This new method involves wearing a medical device known as a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). Participation involves wearing a Dexcom G6 CGM for 10 days prior to their scheduled oral glucose tolerance test and completing surveys.

Maternal Factors Regulating Metabolism and Diabetes Study

The purpose of this study is to better understand gestational diabetes and its relation to a biomarker called placental exosome, found in blood samples of pregnant patients. Participants will donate 2 test tubes of blood at their prenatal visit.

Perinatal Precursors of Early Microbiome Development Study

The types of bacteria in a baby's body can affect the baby's overall health. The purpose of this study is to learn how the care a mother receives during pregnancy, the stress they experience, and the types of bacteria in their body may affect development of potentially helpful or harmful bacteria in the baby's body over the first 3 months of life.
